02Material & hand
The wool is older than this house.
Hand-spun wool, dyed by hand, then walked on for years.
Material
A vintage rug has already been lived on. The dyes go soft where the light sat, and the pile wears thinner along the paths a household used every day. That is the part no loom can reproduce.
Hand
Another weaver knotted it, decades before we found it. Our work comes after. We wash it in Ouarzazate, dry it in the sun, and secure the fringe. Nothing else.
03Care
What an old rug does, said plainly.
The first weeksShe smells like wool, not like age.
Air it flat for a day after the fold. We use no chemical deodorizers.
Moths go for wool at rest.
Vacuum both sides twice a year, and never store it folded in the dark.
Her colors have already settled.
The fading happened years ago, so what you see is close to where it stays.
