Approve a $20 wool swatch, credited to your rug. Nothing goes on the loom until the wool is right in your hands.

10–14 weeks of hand-knotting in the High Atlas, in the exact size you measured, one rate per square foot, whatever the size.

Good to know
Does the wool shed?
Wool relaxes in its first weeks, a light vacuum is all it asks. It settles into the room; it doesn't wear away.
Do I need a rug pad?
We recommend a natural pad under any hand-knotted piece, it protects the knots, softens the step, and keeps the rug where you set it.
What if the swatch isn't right?
The $20 is credited whether or not you go ahead, and nothing is woven until you've approved the wool in your hands. The swatch is there to make the decision for you.
Can I return a made-to-order rug?
Made-to-order pieces are knotted to your size, so they aren't returnable, which is exactly why the swatch comes first. One-of-one pieces in stock follow our standard returns.
About Beni Ourain
The Beni Ourain is the house classic, hand-knotted in our High Atlas ateliers from fleece that winters at altitude, then washed and sun-dried in Ouarzazate. Some keep the wool bare, an ivory ground, a single charcoal line; others run to deep colour and dense pattern. One wool, many faces. Most designs here are woven to order, in your exact size, at the same rate per square foot, a $20 wool swatch, credited to your rug, is approved before the loom starts. The one-of-one pieces are finished and leave within the week. Count 10–14 weeks for a commission; count on it outliving the room it's bought for. Wherever you are, New York, London, Sydney or Copenhagen, your Benisouk rug ships insured and all-in, from the High Atlas to your door.
